THE OPEN UNIVERSITY (full-time)

Apart from the usual lecturing, monitoring, supervising and examining duties of a university lecturer, I was responsible for the writing of material for several of the Open University's courses (see under Publications). Other duties included:

  • Chairman of the Open University course A341, Beethoven (production 1982-7, presentation 1988-2000);
  • Chairman of the Arts Faculty Research Committee (1985-8). Editor of the Faculty of Arts Research Handbook 1984-1986, 1987, 119pp.

I also acted as an Associate Lecturer in the Open University's South Region for A314, From Baroque to Romantic: Studies in Tonal Music (1985-7) and A341, Beethoven (1988).
